15th Annual Downtown Rocks and Runs date announced.
Mount Airy, NC- Saturday, August 12, is the date slated for United Fund of Surry’s Downtown Rocks and Runs 5K and 10K race through downtown Mount Airy. The entire event is a kick-off for their 2023 United Fund campaign.

Online registration runs through August 12th at 7:30 AM.
Prior to July 29th, Participants may also complete a paper registration form at Reeves Community Center, 113 S. Renfro Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
Finishers will receive a finishers medal!
Runners registered before July 21, 2023, are assured an awesome event t-shirt and the best goodie bag around!

5K Team Fitness Challenge
Sign up for the 5K Run/Walk as a team to qualify for the 5K Team Fitness Challenge award! The award is presented to the fastest team based on the average time of the top 5 team members. Team members also qualify for individual awards.
*To be included in the 5K Fitness Challenge, choose the 5K Run/Walk registration option and select the option to Create a New Team or Join an Existing Team during registration.
5K and 10K Corporate Participation Challenge
Show your company's pride and commitment to health and fitness. The organization with the highest number of Downtown Rocks and Runs 5K or 10K run/walk participants will receive a Corporate Participation Challenge trophy.
Choose the 5K Corporate Participation Challenge or 10K Corporate Participation Challenge registration option and create or choose your company team when registering to be included in the participation challenge.

Awards:
Overall Top Male and Female in the 5K and 10K win $250!
5K and 10K Individual Awards: Overall 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place Male/Female and Top 3 Male/Female Age Divisions: 13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+; based on gun time
Corporate Participation Challenge: Team trophy for the company with the highest number of Downtown Rocks and Runs participants in the 5K and 10K combined.
Fun Run (Kids 12 and under): All Fun Runners will receive a participation ribbon.
5K Team Fitness Challenge Award: Prizes for the fastest team finish - average time of the top 5 team members based on gun time.
The 5K and 10K races will have a gun start and chip timed finish. This means that all participants will have the same start time, and the finish time will be recorded as each runner crosses the finish line by reading the chip on the back of your numbered bib. The 5K race has a wide start line which enables all runners to get across the start line in a matter of seconds after the starting horn sounds. Timing services will be provided by Go! Sports Timing and Events.
